Official admission to our program requires that you provide the Texas Tech University Office of Graduate Admissions the following items: 

1.   A completed application form at the Graduate School website:

If Texas Tech is the only college or university in Texas to which you are applying, just enter N/A on the essays, as that information is not forwarded to us.

2.   Application fee: $50.00 Domestic and $75.00 International.

3.   Official transcripts from all schools attended.

4.   TOEFL score (for international students)

 

Items requested by Rawls College Of Business

 Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee in the area in which they are applying. Applicants are required to complete and submit the following.

 

1.   Complete our one-page on-line application.

2.   Submit your current resume as an attachment to ba_grad@ttu.edu.

3.  A recent GMAT score (within the past 5 years). The GMAT is optional for current TTU undergraduate Accounting majors applying for the 150 MSA program, and the SAT and/or ACT scores will be used instead (must have been taken within the last six years).

4.  All applicants are required to submit at least two letters of recommendation with your application. At least one should be from a recent employer and one from a college or graduate program instructor under whom you have previously studied.

5. The Admissions Committee will use your GMAT essays (if applicable) to evaluate your writing skills. You are also required to complete the following essay question.

Please use this opportunity to present any additional information that would assist the Admissions Committee in the evaluation of your candidacy, such as goals, your personal experiences, past challenges and how you met with them, etc. It is beneficial to address the following topics:

1.Specifically address your short and long term goals and how you will use your TTU degree to achieve this.

2.Describe a significant leadership experience/achievement that you believe would contribute to Texas Tech University and your classmates.

3.Describe a problem solving activity in which you were involved as a member of a team and how you contributed to a solution.

4.Describe a major challenge or past failure and how you dealt with it.

5.Optional- Please use this opportunity to present any additional information that would assist the Admissions Committee in the evaluation of your candidacy.

 

Assistantship and Scholarship Application:

 All MSA applicants are automatically considered for a Rawls Scholarship. Applicants who wish to be considered for assistantships should fill out the Rawls Assistantship Application form, attach a current resume, and mail it to the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration, Graduate Services Center for evaluation. You may complete an application at any time to be considered for an assistantship.

Application Deadlines

Applications may be made for the Fall, Spring, or Summer terms. Students are advised to complete their applications by February 15th for the summer and the fall semesters and by October 1st for the spring semester. Late applicants will not be considered between deadline dates. There is also a July 1st deadline for Fall admissions, but admissions at that time will be based on space availability.

 

Interviews

Personal interviews are not required as part of the admission process. However, applicants are welcome to visit the campus. Appointments may be made for applicants to meet graduate faculty members and current graduate students.

 

A Fast Track from Bachelor to Master -

The 150 Hour Program

Per Texas Tech students have the unique opportunity to earn the BBA and MSA upon completion of the 150-hour program. A number of outstanding students are admitted to this fast track program. Students may begin the application process during their junior year and begin their graduate classes during the final semester of their senior year. To consider the 150 Program please visit with an advisor in the Undergraduate Services Center to compare the advisement sheet for the BBA with that for the 150, noting the six hour difference.

Notification of Admissions Decision

Applicants are generally notified on the decision regarding their admission within four weeks of receipt of all their application materials.
